A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues
I dont know, I thought there was a lot of momentum to approve consolidation. But in the last week, Ive heard a lot of people that are against it. Some of my questions have not been answered. I dont think Ill decide until I walk into the voting booth. Josh Zinder, Princeton |
There are a lot people with a lot of questions still and I think, no matter what happens, there will be a lot of shared services that we need to move forward with. I think that we have started a relationship that will grow, we are one town, and I think eventually well make a lot of progress. But whether well consolidate immediately, I dont know yet. I think that once it speaks to the peoples needs and not necessarily their pocketbooks, that it will eventually pass. Walter Krieg, Princeton |
I dont think it will pass this time. Its going to take time to mesh together all the cultural and demographic differences that have gone really over peoples minds. When everyone wakes up and says this is one Princeton, consolidation will take shape. Bill Moran, Princeton |
There are those that are saying Princeton is rapidly becoming a golden ghetto which means the diversity is disappearing. But a tragic loss of diversity would make us not as rich as a community. I think it would lead to the greater likelihood of consolidation eventually. Yvonne Bleiman, Princeton |
I do see consolidation eventually, but I think people need to vote on a plan that is transparent and factual. This plan fails, as did the previous plans; its not transparent; we are still asking for extra analysis. I see consolidation happening once the state becomes involved and makes it more feasible.
