LIBRARY GALA THIS WEEK: Looking ahead to the October 9 100th Centennial Gala are co-chairs Wendy Pierce Evans (left) and Pam Wakefield (center), along with Princeton Public Library Director Leslie Burger. The library will be closed on Saturday, October 9 in preparation for the celebratory weekend. The Gala will follow a talk at Nassau Presbyterian Church by National Public Radio personality Terry Gross. Guests at the fundraiser will enjoy cocktails, dinner, dancing, and a silent auction, with activities held inside the library and in a giant tent outside on Hinds Plaza. The Gala is sold out. The festivities continue the following day with the 10.10.10 birthday party, a community event that includes music, entertainment, costumed characters from children’s literature, and a giant birthday cake and cupcakes with samples for everyone.
