The Princeton-based Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) will hold an October 7 vigil on Palmer Square to mark the eighth anniversary of the war in Afghanistan. From 6 to 6:45 p.m. participants will hold posters; from approximately 6:45 to 7 p.m. they will close by holding candles as darkness falls. We need to press hard now, while President Obama pauses to consider the request for another major escalation, so we can prevent an endless war with tens of thousands more American soldiers and Afghani civilians killed, before our elected officials finally heed the will of the American people, said the Rev. Robert Moore, CFPA Executive Director. For further information, call the Coalition for Peace Action at (609) 924-5022 or visit their web site www.peacecoalition.org.

Other acceptable household items include aerosol cans, household or car batteries, rechargeable batteries, photographic chemicals, used motor oil and oil filters, lighter fluid, propane gas tanks, pesticides/herbicides, pool chemicals, oil based paint, paint thinners, stains/varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, gas/oil mixes, driveway sealer, insect repellants, and mercury.
