Weddings and Engagements



Evelyn Ji He and Ian M. Miller

He-Miller. Evelyn Ji He, daughter of Xiao Wenjia and He Guomian of Shanghai, China, to Ian M. Miller, son of Jane Miller of Princeton and Dr. Wallace T. Miller Jr. and Christina Smith of Philadelphia. The couple was married Sunday, October 10 in the Fragrance Garden on the campus of Swarthmore College.

The bride graduated from Beijing University and received an M.Ed. from Harvard University. She is a teacher at the Winsor School in Boston.

Mr. Miller graduated from Princeton High School, class of 2001, and received his bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College. He earned his master’s in Regional Studies in East Asia from Harvard University, where he is currently a doctoral student in History and East Asian Languages.

The couple resides in Somerville, Massachusetts.


Matthew Hall and Alexandra Gerry

Gerry-Hall. Alexandra Morgan Gerry, daughter of Dr. Alexandra W. Gerry and Peter G. Gerry of Princeton, to Matthew Wesley Hall, son of Dr. and Mrs. F. Wesley Hall of Escondido, Calif. The Rev. Jack Belmont, an Episcopal priest and Rector of St. Matthews Church in Pennington, performed the August 28 ceremony at the Trenton Country Club in West Trenton, N.J.

Mrs. Hall, known to family and friends as “Maggie”, 26, is a graduate of the Pennington School and Lafayette College. She received her master’s degree in social work from Columbia University of the City of New York. She is currently a social worker in Denver at St. Anthony’s Central Hospital — the largest Level 1 trauma hospital in Colorado.

Mr. Hall, 28, graduated from the University of Southern California and received his law degree from Loyola Marymount University. He is currently a lawyer practicing at the firm of Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison & Lewis, Inc. in Denver.


Sarah Burns and Timothy Funkhouser

Burns-Funkhouser. Sarah Graham Burns, daughter of Anne and John Burns of Princeton, to Timothy Andrew Funkhouser, son of Claire and Gary Funkhouser of Rockville, Md. The couple was married July 10 by the Reverend Paul Jeanes III at Trinity Church in Princeton.

Ms. Burns graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., and received a master’s degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. She is a first grade teacher at the Westbriar Elementary School in Vienna, Va.

Mr. Funkhouser graduated from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. He is an Assistant Vice President for Branch Banking and Trust (BB&T) in Arlington, Va.

After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Arlington, Va.


Lindsay Jolley and Jesse Ambriz

Jolley-Ambriz. Lindsay Alexis Jolley, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Jolley of Princeton, to Jesse L. Ambriz, son of Patricia Nunez of Chino Hills, Calif., and Lory Ambriz of Riverside, Calif.

Ms. Jolley is a graduate of Princeton High School and the University of Michigan. She is presently pursuing an education specialist degree in school psychology, and is completing her internship in New Castle, Del.

Mr. Ambriz graduated from Bishop Amat High School and California State University, Los Angeles. He earned a masters degree from CSULA in 2002, and is currently teaching 7th grade math at a charter school in Wilmington, Del.

An August 2011 wedding is planned on Long Beach Island.


Colin Apse and Rachelle Curran

Curran-Apse. Rachelle Curran, daughter of Carol and Albert Curran, to Colin Apse, son of Juris and Astrida Apse.

The bride-to-be graduated from Gorham High School in Maine in 1995, the University of Maine with a B.S. in environmental science, and from Humboldt State University with a Masters in Environment and Community. She currently works at the non-profit, Environmental Health Strategy Center, as the Development and Marketing Associate.

Mr. Apse graduated from Princeton High School in 1991, Duke University with a B.A. in Political Science, and from Yale University with a Masters of Environmental Management in 2000. He is currently employed at The Nature Conservancy, working on freshwater biodiversity conservation in the Eastern U.S. and Africa.

A wedding is planned for the end of summer 2011.


Jacquelyn Brooks and Mark Katzenback

Brooks-Katzenback. Jacquelyn Brooks, daughter of Barbara Brooks of Princeton and the late James Brooks, to Mark Katzenback, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Darlene Katzenback of South Brunswick.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Princeton High School and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and American studies from Rider University. She is currently a teacher with the South Brunswick school district.

Mr. Katzenback is a graduate of South Brunswick High School and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and psychology from Lycoming College. He is also a teacher with the South Brunswick school district.

A summer 2011 wedding is planned.
