Reports of a car crashing into the front of McCaffrey’s came too late for a story. According to available reports, two people in the store were injured, along with the driver. At press time the injuries were not said to be serious. A story will appear in the next issue of Town Topics.

The Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) will host a debate on the current proposal to merge the Borough and the Township on Sunday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Suzanne Patterson Center (behind Borough Hall). The program, which is free and open to the public, will feature a panel of local Democrats with expertise on the current proposal as well as past proposals for municipal consolidation. Claire Jacobus and Patrick Simon will be arguing for consolidation; Alexi Assmus and Kate Warren will speak against it. The panelists will respond to written questions from the audience. Preserve Our Historic Borough (POHB), an organization that opposes the consolidation of Princeton Borough and Princeton Township into one single municipality, is launching its website Wednesday, September 14. Visit preserveprincetonborough.wordpress.com.

Princeton Borough Mayoral candidates Yina Moore and Jill Jachera will appear in a public debate on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jewish Center of Princeton, 435 Nassau Street. Linda Mather of the League of Women Voters will serve as moderator. The debate is co-sponsored by the Jewish Center of Princeton and the League of Women Voters.

The Princeton Public Library’s Board of Trustees will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, September 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s second floor conference room. The meeting is open to the public.
