Ingeborg Isolde Kerr, 80, of Plainsboro, died September 15 in the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany, she came to the United States in 1945 with her husband, and resided most of her life in Penns Grove, and Elmer, N.J. before moving to Plainsboro in 2007.
Known as Inge to her family and friends, she retired in 1992 with over 30 years of service as a bakery manager with Super Fresh Stores, Glassboro.
She was an avid reader, loved to work on crossword puzzles, and loved animals. She rescued many cats and dogs when she lived in Elmer.
The daughter of the late Karl Walter and Gertrud Anna Saur; stepdaughter of the late Ernst Reichardt; wife of the late Joseph Clifford Kerr; and sister of the late Helga Kundinger; she is survived by two daughters, Deborah Kerr-Leathem and Barbara Finnegan; two brothers, Karlheinz Autenrieth and Dieter Reichardt; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Her family is grateful to the staff at The Pavilions at Forrestal Assisted Living for their care and friendship to Inge.
The funeral service will be private under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue.

Vartan M. Aklian, of East Windsor, died September 14 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa.
Born in Kessab, Syria, he came to the U.S. in 1976 to pursue the American dream. He graduated from LaSalle University in Chicago with an engineering degree. An entrepreneur and businessman, he was also known as “Mr. Avamian” as he owned and managed the company he created over 50 years ago, Avamian, Inc.
An extremely giving and selfless man, he enjoyed helping others, especially when it came to education. He also enjoyed swimming, classical music, playing piano, and trading in the stock market.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Zava; his son, Mannix; his daughter, Pia; and two sisters, Araxi Chiavoni and Berge Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held September 18 at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Princeton, with a burial in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery.

Josephine M. Madison, 81, of Princeton, died September 19 at Stonebridge at Montgomery.
Born in New Brunswick, she was a Princeton resident since 1966. She was a former member of the Present Day Club, the Princeton Women’s Club, and an avid bridge and tennis player.
Daughter of the late Peter and Marcella Pormilli; wife of the late David Mendelson (Madison); and mother of the late Greg; she was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by two sons, Gary Madison and Guy Madison; a sister, Adeline Dancsecs; and four grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held at Franklin Park Memorial, North Brunswick. There will be no calling hours.
