Capek-Hallgarth. Former Princeton residents Mary Ellen Capek and Susan Alice Hallgarth were married on Tuesday, September 16, in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, British Columbia. Laurie Smith, a British Columbia marriage commissioner, performed the ceremony. Ms. Capek, 61, is the former director of continuing education at Princeton University. A founding officer and retired executive director of the New York City-based National Council for Research on Women, she is the author of a forthcoming book on effective philanthropy written for the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. A graduate of Drew University, she received a Ph.D. in contemporary American literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She currently works as a philanthropy and non-profit researcher and consultant. Ms. Hallgarth, 63, is professor emeritus and a former administrator at the State University of New York/Empire State College and William Woods University. She is a co-owner of Employment Training Services, an Albuquerque-based company founded in 1998. A graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis., she received a Ph.D. in 19th century English and American literature from the University of Missouri. The couple, who have been together 16 years, moved from Princeton to New Mexico in 1998, where they live and work from their home in Corrales. Engagements Stone-Hardt. Lisa J. Stone, daughter of Raymond Stone of Farmington Hills, Mich., and the late Geri Stone, to Jonathan S. Hardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Hardt III of Princeton. Ms. Stone is a graduate of Boston University and Boston College Law School. She has begun her career at the Philadelphia law firm of Blank Rome. Mr. Hardt is a graduate of The Lawrenceville School and Princeton University. He was recently a management consultant with Hamilton Consultants in Cambridge, Mass., and is currently in the MBA program at the Stern School of Business at New York University. A November wedding is planned.
