Engagement


Brian Mauger and Nikole Lee Thomas

Thomas-Mauger. Nikole Lee Thomas, daughter of Debra L. Thomas of Princeton, to Brian Christopher Mauger, son of Stephen and Karen Mauger of Hillsborough.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Princeton High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in special education from The College of New Jersey. She is currently working toward a BCBA certification at Rutgers University. A special education teacher, she has been employed by The Eden Institute of Princeton for the past five years.

The prospective bridegroom graduated from Dover High School in Dover, N.J. and earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Trenton State College. He also completed his master’s degree in marketing. He has been employed by Bloomberg L.P. in Manhattan for the past ten years.

A March 2008 wedding is planned.

Weddings


Nancy Laufer and Mark Laycock

Laufer-Laycock. Nancy Laufer of Berlin, Germany, to Mark Laycock of Princeton on August 26 at the Traukirche Dornheim, the church in which J.S. Bach was married in 1707.

Born and raised in Weissenfels, East Germany, the bride is one of the world’s foremost classical accordionists, receiving degrees from the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere in Weimar and a post-graduate degree from Hochschule für Musik Wuerzburg. In addition to an active solo career, she is the creator of a new method for teaching the accordion to children and holds two top teaching positions in Berlin. She is currently the subject of a television documentary.

Mr. Laycock, raised in the Washington, D.C. and St. Louis areas, was the longtime Music Director and Conductor of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. He maintains an active guest conducting schedule in Europe and Asia. His son James Laycock, a sixth grade student at Thomas Grover Middle School in West Windsor, was the proud ring-bearer.


Eleanor Hughes and Thomas Fulmer

Hughes-Fulmer. Eleanor “Peggy” Hughes of Princeton, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John P. Murdoch of Ardmore, Pa., to Thomas S. Fulmer of Princeton, on September 22 at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart.

The celebration following the ceremony took place at The Bedens Brook Club.

Mrs. Fulmer has been a real estate broker in Princeton since 1974 and is a life member of the Distinguished Sales Club of the New Jersey Association of Realtors. She has served as Chair of the Chamber of Commerce of the Greater Princeton Area, on the board of trustees of The Hun School of Princeton, and on the board of trustees of McCarter Theater. She is a member of The Bedens Brook Club and The Present Day Club. Her former husband, James J. Hughes Jr., former Executive Director of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority under Governors Brendan Byrne and Thomas Kean, died in 2001. She is the mother of five and grandmother of thirteen.

Mr. Fulmer, a 1956 graduate of Princeton University, retired last year after 45 years of architectural practice in Princeton. His several partnerships designed television, health-care, educational, business, and municipal facilities in the Northeast U.S. In Princeton he has served on several municipal boards, was a trustee of the Campus Club of Princeton University, and chaired the Republican County Committee of Princeton for seven years. He is a member of The Nassau Club, The Bedens Brook Club, and the Rotary Club of Princeton, and sings bass in the Nassau Presbyterian Church choir. His former wife Julia (“Judy”) died last year.

The Fulmers plan to honeymoon in Paris and to reside at his home in Princeton Township.


Avery Matthews and Donald DeVore Jr.

Matthews-DeVore. Avery Madeleine Matthews to Donald Willard DeVore Jr. on July 4 at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia. Ms. Matthews is the daughter of Wendy Matthews of Princeton and step-daughter of the Hon. Russell W. Annich of Princeton. Her father, Robert Matthews, and step-mother, Frances Egan, of Highland Park, are professors of philosophy at Rutgers University. Mr. DeVore’s mother and stepfather, Cynthia and Robinson Callender, are both retired and divide their time between Williamsburg, Va. and Pans, France. His father, Donald DeVore Sr., and stepmother, Christine DeVore, reside in Baltimore.

The wedding ceremony was conducted in the manner of the Religious Society of Friends.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Princeton High School. She graduated from Barnard College with honors in 1999 and is currently completing the research portion of her MD/Ph.D. program at New York University.

The bridegroom, formerly from Philadelphia, is a musician who toured extensively with the bands Ink & Dagger, the Lilys, and The Icarus Line. He also works in fashion production with Ojala Ltd. and event production with Relevent.

The couple resides in New York City.


Ann Marie Russell and Michael LaRiccia

Russell-LaRiccia. Ann Marie Therese Russell of Princeton, daughter of Terrence and Carlota Russell of Massachusetts, to Michael Victor LaRiccia of Princeton, son of Salvatore and Diane LaRiccia of Massachusetts, July 29 at Princeton University Chapel. Jeff Nathanson officiated.

The reception was held at the Hyatt Regency.

The maid of honor was Stacey Russell, the bridesmaids Rachael Wade, Leah LaRiccia, Victoria LaRiccia, Julian Moore, and Mariellen Malloy-Jewers.

The best man was Bryan Margaca, the groomsmen and ushers Darrel Barbato, Tom Collins, and Ben Bertocci.

The bride, 27, is currently a graduate student at Princeton University in the Psychology Department. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2001.

The groom, 28, has a bachelor’s degree in fine art from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2001, and a master’s in fine art from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Ill., in 2005. He is currently the program and public relations coordinator for the Arts Council of Princeton and a graphic novelist and printmaker.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.
