Borough Council will have a public hearing about raising parking fees in the downtown and municipal parking garage on Sundays, and extending fee hours during the week on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall.

Area residents are being asked to donate gently worn dresses and gowns to the Prom Dress Giveaway being sponsored by the Princeton Alcohol and Drug Alliance and Corner House, in an effort to support and encourage an affordable and safe prom season for all area high school students. Dresses will be collected in the community room on the Princeton Township building on April 4 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Free Tax Assistance is available on Thursdays through April 9 at the County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, in Hamilton, where AARP Foundation volunteers provide free services. For an appointment call (609) 989-9800.

The Princeton Borough and Township Republican Committees are actively seeking potential candidates for two Borough Council seats and two Township Committee seats that will be contested in the November 3 General Election. The Primary Election will be held on June 2.

At its recent membership meeting, the Princeton Democratic Organization officially endorsed former PCDO chairwoman Jenny Crumiller for the Borough Council primary race, and Township Committee incumbents Chad Goerner and Liz Lempert.

Olden Street, from Nassau Street to Williams Street will be closed between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 1, because of utility work. Detour signs will be posted.

The Princeton International Festival will kick off with an opening ceremony at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
