Tired of what they call a lack of transparency, members of the Princeton Fair Tax Movement unanimously passed a resolution during their meeting at Township Hall Monday night asking the municipal governments to obtain the area data for each neighborhood in Princeton that was used in calculating individual tax assessments. Friday was deemed the due date for the information.
The Christie Administration recently announced that the Princeton Regional School (PRS) District is eligible to receive $254,920 in state funds through Regular Operating Districts (ROD) facilities grants — although, according to Board of Education President Rebecca Cox, PRS did not apply for the money.
While the fate of the Valley Road School building will not be decided at the August 31 meeting of the Princeton Regional School Board, questions remain for the current tenants, preservationists, and the administrators of the site.
The last thing on the minds of the children happily tossing coins and bills into the Princeton Parks and Recreation Fund’s mini-pool at last week’s Community Night Out was the simplicity — or lack thereof — of proposed pool plans.
Modern artwork of all shades, textures, and stripes graces the walls of the Arts Council of Princeton’s (ACP) main gallery in its latest exhibition, “Modern Masters,” now on view until August 28. Students aged 5 to 14 created the pieces that adorn the space during summer camps and school-year classes over the past three years.
Things were coming easy for George’s Roasters and Ribs/The Ivy Inn last Wednesday as it played the Princeton Sports Bar and Grill in the championship series of the Princeton Recreation Department Summer Men’s Basketball League.
Kyle Burke wasn’t satisfied with his performance during regular season action in the Princeton Recreation Department Summer Men’s Basketball League. “I am on the court to make shots and to spread the court,” said Burke, a guard for George’s Roasters and Ribs/The Ivy Inn. “I hadn’t been doing that until the playoffs.”
Paula’s Romanchuk’s father was a hockey star at the University of Wisconsin and she was born in Minnesota.
Despite those ties to major hockey hotbeds, it wasn’t until her family headed west that she hit the ice in earnest.

Some plays thrive in a minimalist setting. Meticulously detailed realistic settings are not always more effective than abstract, unrealistic, sets. There are plays, however, that depend on a realistic set to bring to life the world of the drama. Without those concrete objects — the furniture, the natural surroundings, the particular objects that occupy the characters’ lives — the actors may struggle in vain to embody the people of the play and to perform convincingly the actions that those people carry out during the course of the evening.
Nasty post-nasal drip, sinus pressure and headaches, nasal congestion and blockage, sinus infection — few of us escape an encounter with one of these conditions, and for some people, it can be chronic, ongoing misery.
