John Conrad Plimpton, 44, of Princeton, died suddenly August 12.
Born in Evanston, Ill., Mr. Plimpton’s childhood home was Wilmette, Ill.
He attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and was a graduate of New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. He graduated from the University of Chicago in Economics and earned an M.B.A. from the William E. Simon School of Management at the University of Rochester.
Mr. Plimpton was co-founder and principal of Equinox Fund Management, an alternative asset manager in Princeton.
He had an extensive background in alternative investments, initially marketing products to institutional and retail investors. In Princeton, he spearheaded the sales efforts of some of the most respected advisors in the alternative investment community, including Beacon Management, Willowbridge Associates Inc., and QFS.
Known for being larger than life in stature, humor, wit, and intellect, he worked and lived passionately. He loved time with his family and friends most of all.
He is survived by his children, David Richard, Jack Cooper, and Audrey Lauren; his former wife, Lori Pecket Plimpton; his betrothed Rebecca Fazzina; and his parents, Conrad and Ann Plimpton. He is also survived by three brothers, Michael, David, and Conrad (“Steve”); and one sister, Sarah Plimpton Murphy. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter.
A memorial service will be held August 23 at 3 p.m. at Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, 1128 Great Road, with a reception to follow.

Florence Roe Parsons, 97, died July 30 in Colorado Springs, Colo. at Pikes Peak Hospice.
She was born in Athens, N.Y. to the late Burton Luke Roe and Sadie Wright Roe.
She graduated from Albany Medical Center School of Nursing and worked as a public health nurse in New York City.
She married the late Nathaniel L. Greenfield, M.D., and together they had two children, the late Peter Greenfield and Margaret Greenfield Kendall.
She was subsequently married to the late Henry K. Parsons.
She lived in the Princeton area for thirty-five years before moving to Colorado Springs.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Greenfield Kendall; her stepdaughter, Harriet Destler; her stepson, Tom Parsons; five grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
At the request of Mrs. Parsons there will be no service, but a private celebration of her life will occur in the Princeton area in September and in Colorado Springs in October.

A memorial service for Mina Bluethenthal Kempton, who died on July 21, will be held on Saturday, August 28, at 2 p.m., at the D & R Greenway Land Trust’s Johnson Education Center, 1 Preservation Place, Princeton (off Rosedale Rd, nearly opposite the Johnson Park School).
