Mercer County officials are urging residents to visit the County's Web site to view a list of recently recalled toys manufactured by toy-maker Mattel, which has expanded its massive recall of toys manufactured in China to include 9 million toys, namely "Polly Pocket" play sets and Batman action figures. Those toys were recalled due to small magnets that could be easily swallowed by children or because of the use of lead paint that exceeds allowable limits. Several injuries had been reported in an earlier Polly Pocket recall last November, according to the Associated Press. In all, at least one U.S. child has died and 19 others have needed surgery since 2003 after swallowing magnets used in toys, according to data provided by Mercer County. Earlier this month, consumers were warned about 1.5 million Chinese-made Fisher-Price toys that contain lead paint. A list of a majority of the toys can be found by going to www.mercercounty.org, and then by clicking on the link under "News."
