Gunn On Target for PU Men’s Hoops but Tigers Drop Squeaker at Rutgers

Lincoln Gunn had just produced one of the best all-around games in his career with the Princeton University men’s basketball team but he wasn’t happy.

The 6’3, 180-pound sophomore guard scored 13 points, snared a career-high 10 rebounds, and had three assists but his effort went for naught as the Tigers fell 54-50 to Rutgers last Saturday before a crowd of 4,527 at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.

Showing Renewed Attention to Detail, PU Men’s Ice Hockey Edges Union 4-3

Showing attention to detail at both ends of the ice, the Princeton University men’s hockey team roared out of the gate this season with a 3-0 start.

In winning the games at Yale, Cornell, and Colgate, the Tigers outscored their foes by a combined 11-4 and seemed poised to have a big November.

But Princeton’s focus wavered and the team went on to drop five of its next six contests, including four straight home contests.

The group of seniors that graced the ice for the Princeton High boys’ hockey team last winter won’t be soon forgotten.

The players in the PHS Class of 2007 made three trips to the Final 16 of the state tournament, they won a Mercer County Tournament title (MCT) and took second in another MCT, and they advanced to the finals of the Titans Cup.
