A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week: "Will you do most of your holiday shopping downtown, at shopping malls, or online, and why?"

"I'll do most of my shopping downtown or online because I can't stand malls.
I like to patronize the local businesses and that's why I will do that."

Lynne Watkins, Randall Road

"Well I hope that I can do most of it online because it is a lot easier for me to shop at 10 p.m. after the kids have gone to bed."

Sonya Legg, Faculty Road

"I do it at shopping malls not online because at malls you can just buy it right away and it doesn't take so many weeks to get. It's just good and it's cheap. For instance, this bear was 50 cents (at the Trinity Fair)."

Caroline Scott, Nassau Street

"Shopping malls. They are convenient and I can see what I'm getting. I like
to be able to have a good look and you can't do that online. I like the
personal touch. I like to get advice. I like to support the local community
which includes the downtown stores as well."

Genevieve Muinzer, Edgehill Road

"Online because we can see the items and it is painless. We do our homework
online. You don't have to deal with traffic and people. We also go for
specialty items downtown as there are a few stores at which we are regulars.
Primarily online for big ticket items but not the mall."

Rick Baran, Governors Lane
