Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

“What are your thoughts about President Obama’s mortgage relief plan?”

“I don’t know if it's the right one. Who is going to benefit, the mortgage company or the consumer? When I think about America, I think of the freedoms we have that are desired by others. We can use the surplus of houses to lure foreigners to purchase them and as an extra incentive, offer a green card to them and their families. This should bring investment and entrepreneurial vigor.”

Kourosh Farshadfar, Princeton

“I am not yet familiar with all of the details, but I hope that it will help lower and middle income people buy homes. It would then stimulate the purchase of home-related items like appliances and improvements.”

John Kizzie, Hillsboro

“I’m hoping and praying that it will work.”

Sylane Mack, Princeton

“It’s too complicated for the normal person to understand. The people who can understand it are the bankers who caused the problem in the first place and should be jailed.”

Jim Schwerin, Princeton.

“It's a start, it's doing something to help people save their homes. It could always be better, but I hope that it will provide relief to families.”

Oscar Torres, Princeton
