In all of the discussion about the Cottage Club's tax exemption, I have seen no mention of exactly when the Club is open to the public. I therefore called the Club's business office, and was informed that it will be open on July 13 and August 7, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
I hope you will all join me there.

On behalf of the Princeton children, I want to thank The Friends of Princeton Public Library for the brand new preschool-friendly early literacy computers their recent gift allowed us to buy. When the computers were installed it was immediately clear that they are a vast improvement over the computers we had in the same location for the past two years, because the hardware and software are both better designed for the youngest users than we were able to do on our own.
Compared to the old, the new computers have more software choices, more languages (one of the two is completely bilingual Spanish/English), sturdier color-coded keyboards, larger screen monitors, and a mouse the size of a petit-four. In addition there are two headphones available at each machine, enabling the adults who come with children to listen in and help out if necessary. But the best thing of all is that the machines are robust. They do not crash. When the kids want to change programs, it is so easy, and yet it is impossible to get to the administrative parts without a password.
The whole youth services staff of the Library thanks the Friends for making our lives much easier. But I think, were we to ask, the parents and grandparents, not to mention nannies and babysitters, are even more grateful than we are.

On behalf of the adolescents, young adults, and families we serve at our agency, we would like to acknowledge the hard work and broad community support that resulted in the very successful 2nd Annual Corner House Grand Prix bike race on Saturday, June 23. 250 bike racers came out to contest a challenging 2.5-mile circuit in the Mt. Lucas neighborhood. The morning races were followed by a number of children's races for aspiring cyclists ages six through 14. The event, hosted by the law firm Mason, Griffin & Pierson, PC, raised close to $10,000 for much-needed, accessible, and affordable substance abuse prevention and treatment services for students and families in the greater Princeton area.
In addition to our title sponsor Mason, Griffin & Pierson, PC, our Peleton sponsors were Kim Pimley & Family, Stark and Stark, and Van Dessel Sports. Club sponsors were Andrew Sheldon Architect, Fennelly & Associates, Knapp's Cyclery, Lucy's Ravioli Kitchen & Market, Momentum Fitness, N.C. Jefferson Plumbing, Heating & A/C, Panera Bread, Pinnacle Therapy Services, Pinneo Construction, and Princeton Orthopaedic Associates. Event sponsors were Lou Damelio, Hamilton Jewelers, Jack Morrison Group, Howard Kaufman, The Lerner Family, On-Call International, and Paul Papier Photography. Funds raised help provide essential services at Corner House Counseling Center, located at 369 Witherspoon Street. For over 35 years, Corner House has been giving hope to individuals and families facing a myriad of problems, and helping young people turn the challenges of adolescence into opportunities for growth as they "build toward a future of promise." We thank everyone who attended for their outstanding commitment to young people.
