The Princeton Public Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, July 17, at 5:30 p.m. in the Library's Conference Room. Trustees are Katherine McGavern, Grayson Barber, Robert Ginsberg, Lucy Hall, Ira Fuchs, Mark Gordon, Township Mayor Phyllis Marchand, Ryan Lilienthal, and Borough Mayor Mildred Trotman. The meeting is open to the public and the agenda will include discussion of library parking. Mayor Trotman has suggested reopening negotiations between the library and the municipalities about reinstating a parking subsidy that was terminated in February. Library Director Leslie Burger has reported a decline in library visits and revenue since then.
Princeton Township was served a lawsuit on Friday, July 6, alleging that two former Township employees were fired for taking medical leaves of absence. Former finance office clerks Joann Kelty and Nancy Tarlow were fired on the same day in May 2006. Their suit claims that the Township is in violation of Family Medical Leave of Absence statutes. The Township will contest the lawsuit.
Princeton Township Shade Tree Commission has cancelled its scheduled meeting for Thursday, July 12, at 5:30 p.m. in Meeting Room B of the Municipal Complex, 400 Witherspoon Street. Also cancelled is the next regular meeting of the Site Plan Review Advisory Board that was scheduled for July 11.
Princeton Regional Board of Education will hold a Facilities/Finance Workshop on Wednesday, July 11, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and a Personnel/Program Workshop on Wednesday, July 25, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., both will take place in the Valley Road Administration Building. The purpose of the workshops, which are both open to the public, is to discuss committee goals for the 2007-08 school year.
