The Princeton Community Democratic Organization will consider endorsing candidates in anticipation of the Democratic Primary in June at its next general membership meeting on Sunday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Suzanne Patterson Center. Candidates for two Township Committee seats are incumbents Chad Goerner and Liz Lempert. Candidates for two Borough Council seats are incumbent Peggy Karcher, incumbent Kevin Wilkes, Jenny Crumiller, and Mendy Fisch. County, State and Federal offices will be endorsed by acclamation

The Mercer County Improvement Authority will host Household Chemical and Electronics Waste Disposal Day on Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for County residents who would like to recycle common residential wastes or electronics. The event will take place rain or shine at the Dempster Fire Training School, located on Lawrence Station Road. No registration is necessary for the event, which is open to Mercer County residents only. Attendees will be asked to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license. Acceptable household items include aerosol cans, household or car batteries, rechargeable batteries, photographic chemicals, used motor oil and oil filters, lighter fluid, propane gas tanks, pesticides/herbicides, pool chemicals, oil-based paint, paint thinners, stains/varnishes, gasoline, anti-freeze, gas/oil mixes, driveway sealer, insect repellants, and mercury. Acceptable used electronic items include central processing units (CPUs), modems, printers, keyboards, computer mouses, fax machines, copiers, circuit boards, televisions, monitors, electrical wire, stereo equipment, laptops and laptop peripheral equipment, scanners, phones/telecommunications equipment, microwave ovens, networking equipment, VCRs, and camera equipment.

A week-long celebration of Hindu culture and religion featuring lectures, performances, and yoga demonstrations will be held March 28 to April 5 on the Princeton University campus. Entitled “Hinduism in the 21st Century,” the week will explore the intersection of India’s ancient spiritual traditions with the modernity of American life.
