Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

How much has online buying affected your Christmas shopping plans?

“I prefer online shopping. I don’t have to be in the crowds. It comes right to your door, you have free shipping.”

Brenda Watty, Ewing

“I like being in the stores seeing the decorations, feeling the fabrics, trying things on. I really like the excitement of stores. I have never bought anything online. It may be a generational thing.” — Kathleen Smith, Virginia (visiting her husband’s family for the holidays)

Veronika: “My family decided to do online shopping this year. My parent’s did not wake me up at four in the morning. I am not as tired as I was last year. There are advantages and disadvantages to shopping online — you don’t know exactly what you are getting until it arrives.” Elana: “We don’t do much online shopping, we like to go to the mall and to the stores. It’s more fun to get to browse in the stores.”

“Online shopping has had a great effect on my shopping because everything is accessible.”

Elliot Emert, Princeton

“I prefer to go to the local shops and support the town.”

Carmen Plucinsky, Princeton

Alison: “I do all my shopping online. It’s so much easier to have it delivered.” Brian: “I do pretty much all my Christmas shopping for everyone online except for my parents. I will go out to shop for my parents.”

Alison Burton (visiting from Philadelphia)
and Brian Roach, Princeton
