The Princeton Township Police Department encourages residents to participate in Operation Medicine Cabinet by bringing their expired or unused medicines to the department’s facility at 1 Valley Road on Saturday November 14, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, see www.operationmedicinecabinetnj.com. The program will help to limit access by young people to medicines that are being abused. Seventy percent of all people who abuse prescription drugs say they get them from friends and relatives.

The Princeton Regional Public Schools will hold the annual Warm Winter Clothing Drive on Saturday, November 21 from 8:30 a.m. until noon in the All-Purpose Room of Community Park Elementary School. All who are in need are welcome to come and make selections. Donations of gently used coats, sweaters, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, boots, and snow pants will be collected in the Community Park Elementary School lobby during the week, from November 16 to November 20.

A small bridge on Van Kirk Road in Lawrence Township has been closed indefinitely due to structural damage. The bridge, which carries Van Kirk Road over Shipetawkin Creek, is approximately 19 feet in length and was built in 1921. Motorists are advised that Van Kirk Road will be closed between Cold Soil Road and Carter Road, and that traffic will detour from Cold Soil Road to Carter Road for vehicles traveling from the west, and from Carter Road to Cold Soil Road for vehicles traveling from the east.
