Palmer Square will celebrate its annual Menorah lighting on Thursday, December 2 at 5 p.m. The ceremony will take place rain or shine at the North Plaza on Hulfish Street in front of Mediterra restaurant. Music and refreshments will follow.

The Princeton Shopping Center is hosting a Holiday Party with Santa and Snowy on Saturday afternoon, December 4, in the outdoor courtyard. Santa and Snowy will arrive on a fire engine at 12:30 p.m. Children may visit with Santa and receive a free gift. Parents are welcome to photograph the visit, and refreshments and craft projects will be available. From 1 to 3 p.m., Evan Milman and Eric Butler of Rhythm and Blues will lead a sing-along and perform holiday rock and roll. For more information call (609) 921-6234.

Princeton Township Committeewoman Sue Nemeth encourages area residents to add local children to their holiday lists by contacting Human Services officer Cynthia Mendez at (609) 688-2055 or email CMendez@princeton-township.nj.us. Ms. Mendez can help with the selection of a child or family who would otherwise not receive gifts this season. “The economic crisis is taking a toll on the most vulnerable members of our community,” observed Ms. Nemeth. “The list of local families in need is growing. Please join me in making holiday wishes come true for all the boys and girls in Princeton by ‘adopting’ a child and delivering the gifts on their list.”

Ten Thousand Villages is hosting a Community Shopping Day on Thursday, December 2 from 3 to 7 p.m. to benefit the Princeton Senior Resource Center (PSRC). The store, which located in the Princeton Shopping Center on Harrison Street, is a non-profit, fair trade organization offering handmade home décor, personal accessories, musical instruments, and gift items created by artisans from around the world. It will donate 10 percent of each purchase that afternoon to PSRC.
